New Roots for Restoration perennial alley cropping (2022-2024)

Under the New Roots for Restoration project led by The Danforth Center, I managed two experiments evaluating perennial polycultures. The first trial compared the productivity and physiological development of various perennial monocrop and intercrop systems. The second trial measured the movement of nitrogen through a perennial agroecosystem, helping to understand the fertility dynamics of perennial crop production.

Defining the Enabling Environment for Sustainable
Production and Trade of Avocados in the United States (2022)

I collaborated with the Responsible Tropical Fruits Project team at the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in mapping the roles of various actors and institutions in the trade of avocados between Latin America and the United States. This included identifying gaps and providing recommendations supporting FAO in promoting sustainable and resilient production systems and responsible business practices across the value chain.

Seed Enterprise Management Institute – An Impact Evaluation (2022)

In partnership with the Iowa State Seed Science Center and the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa, I conducted an evaluation of the Seed Enterprise Management Institute in Kenya, which trains seed industry leaders across East Africa in seed processing, quality assurance, and business management. This included a desk review and the development of a survey for program participants. Recommendations were prepared to guide the expansion of the program in the form of a sister institute in West Africa.

International Association of Students in Agricultural and Related Sciences Strategic Planning (2020-2021)

As the National Director of IAAS’ USA chapter, I led the creation and implementation of new internal strategies for recruitment, financial management, and professional development. I also organized the annual conference and business meeting, which included arranging speakers and tours for attendees.
